A CHARITY for youngsters with autism and Asperger’s syndrome is holding a Christmas fundraiser today.

ACCT – Asperger’s Children and Carers Together – will be serving mulled wine, tea, coffee cakes and mince pies at 260 Dobcroft Road, off Ecclesall Road, from 1pm to 3pm.

Cost is £7 per person with all proceeds going towards extra children’s activities.

Shop at festive market

GREENHILL and Bradway Tenants’ Association is holding an indoor and outdoor market at the weekend.

The free event is at the tenants’ hall, Gresley Road, Lowedges, on Sunday, from noon to 4pm.

Organisers say there will be 50 stalls, a mini funfair, hot chestnuts, hot and cold refreshments and a cupcake stall. There will also be music from a brass band, Barney Baloney, church choirs and B.Vox choir.

Crafty event in park

GET festive in Queen’s Park, Chesterfield, on Saturday, with the return of the annual ‘Winter Festivities in the Park’.

The event takes place from 10am – 3pm next to Frederick’s café.

Members of the public are invited to come along, make their own wreath or yule log.

Choirs in good voice

TWO of the region’s best choirs are performing Christmas songs at Meadowhall Shopping Centre this weekend in aid of Helen’s Trust, the centre’s Charity of the Year.

Winner of Channel 5’s ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ competition, all-female choir Dale Diva are on stage on Saturday, from 12.30pm to 3pm.

On Sunday, Matlock’s Bel Canto Male Choir perform from 1pm-3.45pm.

Church carol service

BRASS band musicians will provide the music for a carol service at a Sheffield city centre church.

Members of Stannington Brass Band will play at the event, at historic Upper Chapel, Norfolk Street, on Sunday, from 7pm.
