NEWS IN BRIEF: Motorbikes set on fire in the fields

ARSONISTS set fire to two motorbikes in fields in Sheffield on the same night.

The first was set on fire off Guildford Avenue, Norfolk Park, just before 8.15pm on Monday and the second in a field near Southend Road, Wybourn.

Meanwhile a camper van which was found burning on Jebb Lane, Haigh, near the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, had also been set alight deliberately by arsonists. Firefighters were called to deal with the blaze just after 10pm last Friday.

Burglary probe

A BURGLAR broke into a house on Whinacre Walk, Lowedges, after a door was left unlocked.

Police are investigating the break-in overnight on Saturday September 29.

Wheelie bin blaze

A WHEELIE bin was set alight behind a carpet shop on King Street, Hoyland, Barnsley. Firefighters said they are called out repeatedly to bin fires there.
