News In Brief: Labour stalwart Terry dies at 76

A FORMER Doncaster borough councillor has died in hospital at the age of 76 after a short illness.

Terry Sellars was a Labour member for the Conisbrough and Denaby ward for many years and worked as an overman at Cadeby Colliery. His funeral service is next Wednesday afternoon at St Alban’s RC Church, Denaby Main, followed by burial in the village cemetery.

Chairman quits

the volunteers of the Tickhill Together group meet in The Carpenter’s Arms, Westgate, on Tuesday evening to elect a new chairman to replace Eileen Davis, who is leaving the area. Volunteers will discuss the organisation of Tickhill’s annual late night shopping evening on Thursday, November 24.

A COMMERCIAL development of six shops and a trolley store and car parking has been proposed for the site of the old Abbey Hotel in Station Road, Dunscroft, if Doncaster Council planners give their consent.
