KIND-HEARTED keep-fit fan Joanna Curtis pulled out her best moves to raise cash for charity.

The 27-year-old raised £175 for the British Heart Foundation at a sponsored Zumbathon held at Don Valley Stadium. Joanna was crowned the biggest fundraiser - and awarded a spa voucher from the Hilton hotel.

Join fungi foray

DISCOVER the secrets of the undergrowth at a Fungi Foray being held by Wadsley and Loxley Commoners.

The event takes place on Saturday, on Loxley Common, led by fungi expert and local resident, Dave Buckle. Walkers set off from Rural Lane Car Park, Wadsley, at 10am.

Music celebration

CELEBRATE New York City’s famous nightclub of the 1920s and 1930s with a show at Barnsley’s Civic Theatre on Saturday night.

Swinging at the Cotton Club features The Jiving Lindy Hoppers and The Harry Strutters Hot Rhythm Orchestra.

Tickets for the performance, at 7.30pm, are £18.50.
