NEWS IN BRIEF: Builders dig deep to fund entry fees

Have your say

PUPILS at a Sheffield school have thanked VINCI Construction UK for raising £800 to fund entry into a robot contest.

The construction firm made the donation to Bradfield School, which the firm is currently being rebuilt in a £22 million project.

The money will find two school teams to enter the Lego robotics competition and buy 700 T-shirts for their sports day.

Bag up for charity

BRITISH Heart Foundation charity shops across South Yorkshire are urging people to bring in their unwanted items as part of the organisation’s Great British Bag-athon event.

The charity’s shops are aiming to collect 1,000 bags each during September and need all the help they can get from big-hearted locals to reach their target.
