THE owner of the Cherry Blossom bakery in Bawtry, Doncaster, is celebrating its first birthday next week by throwing a party.

Charlotte Sleight has organised a special event on Sunday, July 15, when she has invited residents to join her and friends for tea and cake at the anniversary celebration in the New Hall, Station Road, from 2pm to 4.30pm.

Those attending will be able to browse a wide range of produce and gifts that will be on display and the first 50 guests will also receive a free goodie bag.

Pub changes

THE owners of the Anne Arms in Suttonfield Road, Sutton, want to demolish a conservatory and smoking shelter and replace them with a new barbecue area as part of renovations at the pub which also include a new glazed roof over the entrance.

Pirates ahoy!

THE Fusion Youth Theatre Company is putting on a new musical show about female pirates, Queen of the Seas, at Doncaster Little Theatre on Wednesday, July 11, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 and £4.

Funds boosted

A COFFEE morning held by the Tickhill branch of the Yorkshire Countrywomen’s Association raised more than £200 for their chosen charity, supporting research into Alzheimer’s disease.

CIVIC Mayor Christine Mills has accepted an invitation to The Ultimate 1940s Party being held tonight at the National Mining Museum, near Wakefield.
