New Year invite to join club for retired men

Have your say

FANCY doing something a bit different in the New Year?

If so, why not consider becoming a member of Dronfield Probus Club.

The club, for retired men, meets at the Contact Club, Snape Hill Lane, Dronfield, on the first and third Wednesdays of each month.

All meetings start at 10am, when members are able to enjoy a chat and coffee before listening to a professional speaker talking about a range of interesting subjects.

Prospective members are invited to pop down and join in to see if the club is for them.

January meetings begin on Wednesday, January 9, when Roy Pilkington will give a talk and presentation entitled Is it Dark?

Next up, on Wednesday, January 23 comes Alan Powell, the former editor of both The Star and Sheffield Telegraph, who will give a talk entitled History of Sheffield Newspapers.

His talk coincides with the 125th anniversary of The Star earlier this year.
