New walkway will improve access to town's park

Improvements have been made to an eroded section of a popular South Yorkshire woodland footpath.

The new raised boardwalk, installed at Worsbrough Mill Country Park, will greatly improve accessibility for site visitors.

The new elevated structure also has significant benefits to surrounding biodiversity, enabling essential water to flow freely towards the surrounding wet woodland, helping to maintain the habitat and the wide range of species it supports.

Coun Roy Miller, Cabinet Spokesperson for Place, said: “The new walkway - hopefully the first phase of a series of future works at the country park - will improve access to the park, making it an ideal destination for a gentle walk while taking in the stunning scenery and fascinating array of wildlife.”
