New van for Sheffield-based Support Dogs charity thanks to donation

Charity Support Dogs has taken delivery of a new van thanks to the generosity of Sheffield Freemasons.

Members of the freemasons raised £14, 000 for the van which will be used to transport specialist assistance dogs in training from the charity’s base near Meadowhall. The freemasons have been a longstanding supporter of Support Dogs – they raised £18, 000 to fund two previous vans to replace vehicles damaged beyond repair when the River Don flooded in 2007. The charity provides guide dogs to children and adults with challenging conditions.

Danny Anderson, fundraising manager, said: “The freemasons are great friends of the charity.”
