New treats in store at popular Sheffield street market

A popular street market which regularly attracts thousands of people will hold its first event of the year tomorrow.

Sharrow Vale Market returns with more than 80 stalls stretching down Sharrow Vale Road this Sunday April 17, from 12pm until 4pm and has been organised by volunteers and members of the area’s community group.

This time there will be new traders taking part, from arts to woodwork and food from around the world, and pony rides for children.

“There will be a touch of the tropical with a selection of stalls selling exotic health and beauty products, bold fashions and unusual ice creams”, said an organiser.

“The Sharrow Vale Community invites people to support local businesses and cottage industries, our artisans, producers, makers and bakers. Come rain or shine, 80 stalls will line Sharrow Vale Road once more for the first market of 2016. Shoppers will be able to stock up of local produce, have lunch from the myriad of international food stalls and find wonderful craft items for their homes.”

Hospital Broadcasting Sheffield will also be raising funds for Sheffield Hospital Radio and there will be live music.
