We all knew the good weather wouldn't last long, didn't we?

But even the most pessimistic of us wouldn't have been predicting a weather warning of RAIN in South Yorkshire.

Sadly though, that's exactly what we've got from the Met Office this morning.

A yellow weather warning for rain has been issued by the Met Office with forecasters warning of thunderstorms this evening.

The Met Office has warned that a few homes and businesses across the country could suffer flooding, leading to some damage to buildings or structures.

There may also be some damage to a few buildings and structures from lightning strikes with some short term loss of power and other services.

However, Sheffield may just miss out on the adverse weather.

Only Barnsley and areas north of the country have been included in the Met Office's warning but rain has been forecast sporadically through the evening.
