Sheffield-based show Between Us has been looking for a suitable fringe venue.

'We've taken'Between Us to Birmingham, Brighton, Buxton and London this summer, and people have asked us repeatedly when we're coming home,' said actress Rachel E Thorn. 'But we couldn't find quite the right venue that struck the balance between intimacy and production values. As soon as we saw The Cellar Theatre, we knew it would be a great space for our show.'

The Cellar Theatre is a newly-converted performance space at the back of DINA Venue on Cambridge Street. Inside are green velvet theatre seats rescued from Bristol Old Vic, a lighting rig and PA and a bar.

'It has all the trappings of a theatre,' said performer Alex Keen, 'but with the intimacy that most improvised shows need, especially Between Us.'

Between Us is described as a bittersweet play about one couple's relationship, unusual on the improvisation scene because it's drama, not comedy.

The pair also run dramatic improv workshops at the theatre.

Between Us is at the Cellar Theatre on October 18 and November 15.
