The layout of the new shop, which relocated from 34 High Street to 26-28 High Street, has been designed to meet the demands of busy food-on-the-go shoppers. It was officially opened by former boxing champion, and Commonwealth Games bronze medallist, Tommy Joyce MBE.

Shop manager Jackie Woods said: “I’m very proud to be managing this new-look shop in its new improved location. The shop team are looking forward to hearing what the local community think of the new shop.”

Raymond Reynolds, retail director for Greggs, said: “We’re delighted to be able to invest in Mexborough and provide our valued customers with a modern and comfortable relocated shop. This underlines our long-term commitment to the area and I’m sure it will be enjoyed by existing and new customers alike.”

The shop, which offers a range of savouries and sandwiches, has seating and free Wi-Fi for customers who wish to eat inside the shop. The shop is open Monday to Saturday, from 7am to 5.30pm, and on Sundays from 9.30am to 4pm.
