DERBYSHIRE has 21 new special constables after they were sworn in at a ceremony attended by senior officers from the force.

The 16 men and five women completed a two-week course in April before they were sworn in to the force.

Assistant Chief Constable Dee Collins said: “We are actively recruiting for new people to join the special constabulary.”
