A new group of Special Constables has been sworn in at a ceremony.

The 16 new Specials, to serve in Derbyshire, were presented with their warrant cards during the ceremony, where they swore an oath to the Queen and were congratulated on joining the force by Temporary Assistant Chief Constable Gary Knighton and Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Hardyal Dhindsa.

ACC Knighton said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome our latest team of special constable recruits into Derbyshire Constabulary.

“Each of our new recruits has undertaken rigorous training and the ceremony is a celebration of their achievements thus far.”
