New spa planned for luxury hotel

AN award-winning Doncaster hotel is set for expansion.

Work is due to start soon on a new spa and seven additional luxury suites at Doncaster’s Mount Pleasant Hotel, which was recently a finalist in the White Rose tourism awards.

The spa, due for completion in summer 2009, will feature an 18-metre swimming pool, poolside experience rooms that may include an aromatherapy sauna, salt room and feature steam room as well as a state of the art fitness suite.

The Mount Pleasant, the highest AA-rated four-star hotel in South Yorkshire, will also have a patio scented herb garden, conservatory reception and lounge area and a grass jogging track across the Northern Racing College country park.

General manager Richard Tyas said: “The spa will guarantee an exclusivity and relaxing experience to members and guests. Exclusivity will be the keynote with membership restricted to 400 so that people looking for the ambience of their own private pool spa on their doorstep can be assured that the setting, extensive facilities and service are never compromised.”
