TRAFFIC lights are being switched on to control vehicles at a busy South Yorkshire junction.
Signals will be launched on the Mushroom roundabout, in Dalton, Rotherham, from Thursday, August 18.
It follows a year-long project to improve the junction and approach roads by Rotherham Council and South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, aiming to reduce congestion and improve the reliability of bus journey times.
Pedestrian crossings have been constructed on all four approaches and exits of the roundabout, which is located between Fitzwilliam Road, Aldwarke Lane and Doncaster Road, providing access all around the junction without the need to use subways.
Additionally, the crossings can be used by cyclists.
