New service to launch in Sheffield for elderly people in own homes

An organisation which operates 11 residential care homes across Sheffield is taking its care services out into the wider community.

The Sheffcare Home Care Service will see a range of services offered to clients in their own homes.

Personal care, bathing and dressing, meal preparation and cooking help, medication support, shopping or help with shopping, a befriending and companion service, a sitting service to provide carers with breaks, and support for access to social activities will all be offered.

Annette Johnson, Sheffcare home care manager, said: “Increasingly, we are finding people are wanting the security of a good support system without necessarily wanting to enter residential care.”

The new service launches on November 1. For details, call 0114 272 4366.
