New research unveils Sheffield's key property selling points

New data which looks at seven key data sets surrounding property and living standards, has revealed Sheffield’s top selling points and where it is excelling in comparison to the rest of the UK.Research carried out by online home buying company We Buy Any Home looked at the key selling points of 26 UK cities to find out which city is the most desirable for buyers and offer the best conditions for sellers to get a good price. So how did Sheffield get on?Overall, the city ranked 14th in the Index, thanks to a mixed bag of results, revealing that the city is excelling in a number of areas, but is in need of improvement in others. For example, the city excelled when it came to average house prices, finishing 9th with an average house price of £154,674. It also performed well for its NHS rating – it was 10th for the percentage of patients seen within four hours at A&E. And the city also has some of the brightest prospects for education, it was ranked 11th for the number of OFSTED outstanding rated schools in Sheffield.Unfortunately, a few factors brought the city’s overall rating down were the burglary (17th) and employment rate (15th).According to the data analysed, Sheffield had a burglary rate of 5.8 per 1000 over three years, although this could be down to the fact that it is a larger, metropolitan city than other locations in the survey. However, the Steel City offers a green, modern city scape, mixed with a friendly, independent and alternative vibe for prospective buyers and sellers to cash in on the growing metropolitan hub.The index took into account seven key data sets in order to determine the overall ranking of all 26 cities. Sheffield was ranked a modest 14th with the following data... Average house prices, 9th, £154,674; The A&E target ratings of the local NHS Trust, 10th, 89.8 per cent; Number of outstanding rated OFSTED schools, 11th, 12; Employment rate, 15th, 68.2 per cent; Average sale time, 15th, 81 days; Burglary rate, 17th, 5.8 per 1,000; Average wages, 18th, £24,180.Elliot Castle, CEO at We Buy Any Home, said: “Heading into 2018, there is the attractive prospect of a new start, we wanted to highlight the areas of the country which are the most desirable for buyers and offer the best conditions for sellers to get a good price. We wanted to make our index as comprehensive as possible and took into consideration a variety of factors that really matter to both buyers and sellers. Sheffield scored very well in some areas and struggled in others, but overall offers a good quality of living in several areas.” Visit webuyanyhome.com/the-selling-points-index-2018/
