Doncaster residents will know the venue in its previous guise as Detox or even Silks, which was a very popular bar during the 90’s and early 2000s.

Investors behind the The Merchant Bar wanted to bring something different to Doncaster and provide cocktails that have won drinks awards up and down the country.

Bar manager Steve Corbin, said: “The place looks amazing, and it truly is a different look, feel and taste to anything we have in Doncaster.

“It is a totally unique experience with the decor and design of the establishment.

“We are also delighted to be working alongside the Mercure Danum Doncaster, as we will be joining forces on events moving forward and the two high-end properties and products provided, will be a complimentary relationship moving forward.

“It was great to see so many people turn up to our opening and we have received some brilliant comments from our initial customers.

“To start with, we will open Thursday, Friday, Saturday, but as more of Doncaster discovers our offering, I am sure we will be opening seven days a week.”

The hotel itself recently re-opened after a huge revamp.
