Residents living in a South Yorkshire village have a new modern post office with longer opening hours.
Mayor of Rotherham Coun John Foden cut the ribbon at the official opening of the refurbished post office in Harthill.
The branch had been closed for two weeks to allow for modernisation to be carried out and turn it into an open plan outlet.
The new post office is open from Monday to Saturday, 8.30am to 5.30pm.
Steve Bruckshaw, Post Office senior stakeholder manager, said: “We understand how important having a post office is to residents in Harthill and I am confident that this new modern post office will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
