THE new man appointed to ensure Doncaster’s airport takes off in the future has been named.

Steve Gill is the new airport director for Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield, after his promotion from group environment and facilities director for Peel Airports.

He will take charge of the UK’s newest commercial airport from September 1, when he will be responsible for planning, directing and managing day to day operations.

Steve, aged 46, who has almost 30 years’ experience in the aviation industry, said: “In a short space of time this airport has received tremendous support both from passengers and organisations across South Yorkshire.”
