New Ikea won’t impact on their lives

We live in Tinsley, very close to the proposed Ikea store, and feel it will impact very heavily on the Tinsley community, due to the amount of traffic it will generate, which is already problematic, especially at Christmas.

It takes my husband up to an hour to travel five miles home in the evening. Many times, there are queues off the M1, northbound, heading towards junction 34, where people queue right up the motorway. This is dangerous, due to the amount of traffic.

We understand the excitement of the people in Sheffield, who are in favour of the store being built, but none of them live near enough for it to impact on their lives. We already have Meadowhall Retail Park, Sheffield Arena, Valley Centertaimment, the ice skating centre, which all cause more traffic, and this impacts heavily on bus services.
