RAIL passengers using the Hope Valley line between Sheffield and Manchester are to benefit from an additional evening peak service departing at 6.14pm from December.
There will also be improvements to Manchester evening peak service with new departures at 4.45pm and 5.48pm replacing the current 5.18pm service.
Bosses say the changes will provide a better spread of travel choices for passengers.
Lee Wasnidge, Area Director for Northern Rail, said: “We’re really pleased to be able to introduce these additional services.
“The improvements to the timetable are the result of a working partnership between the rail industry and local stakeholders.”
Coun Jean Wharmby, of High Peak and Hope Valley Community Rail Partnership, said: “I am delighted.”
