Plans for a new housing development in Barnsley have been approved.
Barnsley Council gave the go-ahead for the scheme on the site of the former Grove Street Junior and Infant School, opposite the Oakwell Football Ground.
A total of 32 two and three bedroom terraced and semi-detached properties will be built.
The development has been designed by Sheffield architectural design agency Coda Studios.
Adam Murray, director of Coda Planning, which submitted the plans, “The school had been derelict for a long time and even though we would have liked to preserve the site and its buildings it was not financially viable to do so.
“We will also be preserving some key pieces from the original building for including in the new homes if possible.”
