New helpline for charity

Have your say

A ROTHERHAM charity has launched a telephone helpline for victims of sexual abuse.

The Rotherham Women’s Counselling Service has launched the helpline, for men and women, as extra support on top of face-to-face and group counselling and therapy sessions it already offers.

The phone line will be manned by trained counsellors every Thursday and Friday.

The helpline, which is funded by the Ministry of Justice, will be manned on Thursdays from 9am until 11.30am and on Fridays between 12.30pm and 3pm.

The charity specialises in dealing with people who have suffered from sexual abuse, rape, domestic violence or child sex abuse when they were younger.

When workers are not manning the phone messages can be left.
