New family fun day in Sheffield to raise cash for cancer charity

A family fun day is to be held in Hillsborough Park in June to raise cash for cancer charity Macmillan Cancer Support.

At the event on Sunday, June 12 there will be live entertainment including dance and martial arts displays, a dog show, falconry display, stalls, rides and games.

The event has been organised by Michael Whiting, from Chapeltown, who is the organiser of the successful Ecclesfield Gala which has raised over £135,000 for Macmillan over the last 30 years.

He said: “This is the first time we have done an event to raise money for Macmillan in Hillsborough Park.

“We are looking for people interested in paying to have a trade stall at the gala where they could sell arts, crafts, books, toys – or anything which would be suitable for a family.

“Also, if anyone is interested in running a raffle or tombola stall in aid of Macmillan then we’d love to hear from you too.”

The event will take place from 11am to 5pm and money raised will be used to provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support to people suffering from cancer.
