SHEFFIELD’S Labour members are to back a motion at Wednesday’s Sheffield Council meeting criticising Government changes to the NHS.

The motion, by Coun Mary Lea, cabinet member for social services, repeats her party’s claim the changes will ‘turn the NHS into a full-blown market’.

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has said the bill includes safeguards to ensure competition is based on quality of care not price.
