ROTHERHAM’S first new Council houses to be built for 30 years are welcoming their new residents.
The tenants for the first eight completed houses on Newland Avenue, Maltby, are this week being handed their keys.
All the properties, built by Bramalls, were built to above typical market standards and are designed to ensure a high-quality build, a safe environment and incorporate high energy efficiency measures, making them more affordable for council tenants to live in.
The eight new homes were funded with £519,697 from the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency. In total, 132 new houses are set to be built across the borough, with funding support totalling £8.8 million from HCA.
