TWO district councils in Derbyshire have teamed up to transform their waste collection service to save money.
Bolsover and North East Derbyshire district councils will launch their new kerbside collection service in May.
Under the new scheme 79,000 households will get new burgundy bins, replacing existing blue boxes and bins.
Residents will be able to use the bins for all recyclable material, including glass, plastic and paper.
Coun Nigel Barker, NE Derbyshire environment spokesman, said: “This new service will make it easier for everyone to recycle more, and will also include plastic bottles as part of the kerbside collection scheme - something our residents have asked for.
“By working together, the new system also underlines the commitment of both councils to saving money while protecting frontline services.”
