New Chris Wilder mural appears near Bramall Lane
A new mural celebrating Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has appeared on Bramall Lane.
Painted on a red and white striped background, the mural features a large portrait of Wilder alongside the words “He’s one of our own”.
It was completed gradually over several days, with its early stages visible from Tuesday.

The artwork can be seen clearly from outside Bramall Lane itself, as well as from Woodhead Road and the surrounding roadside, making it a prominent new landmark for fans arriving at the stadium.
The mural is located on the back of the Railway Hotel, a pub closely linked to Sheffield United’s history.
Situated next to Bramall Lane, the building was once the home of the Bramall family, after whom both the road and the stadium are named.
Today, it is a traditional British pub run by a committed Blades supporter and is a popular meeting place for fans on matchdays, known for its strong ties to the club.
Sheffield-born Christopher John Wilder is currently the manager of Sheffield United, having returned to the role in September 2025.
A lifelong Blade, Wilder played for the club across two spells and later enjoyed major success as manager, leading United to the League One title in 2017 and promotion to the Premier League in 2019.
The mural reflects his enduring connection with the club and his status as one of its most recognisable figures.
