Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice has appointed Kath Henderson as the new Chair of Trustees.
Kath, of North Anston has an extensive nursing background spanning almost 38 years and has been a trustee since 2010.
Following a long career in the NHS, now works as an independent consultant.
She said: “I am really pleased to become Chair and I am really looking forward to driving the strategic focus of the charity. As a clinician who has worked with children and young adults throughout my career and with my experience at board level, I feel I have a lot of expertise to offer.
“I live close to the hospice and Bluebell Wood is a vital, well-respected charity which provides essential services for children and families in our region. The combination of my skill set and local knowledge means that I am really passionate about the charity and ensuring it is fit for any future challenges.”
Kath takes the position from John Holt, who been a Trustee since fundraising began for the hospice more than 13 years ago. He has been the Chair of the Board since 2009.
John said: “Whilst I will really miss my involvement with the hospice, it will never be far from my thoughts.”
