A new police officer has joined Killamarsh Safer Neighbourhood Team to take over from a bobby who will now be responding to emergency calls.

PC Laura Farmer has taken over the reins from PC Richard Newall, who has moved on to the response team.

She has been a police officer for more than six years, and has worked as a response officer in Dronfield and Bolsover.

PC Farmer said: “Since I started in the role I’ve been out on patrol and getting to know the community and I’ve been really enjoying it, but it is a different style of policing than what I’m used to.

“During the next few months I will be working with my colleagues to target our current priority, which is anti-social behaviour in parts of Killamarsh.”
