Plans to knock down a bungalow and garage in Ranmoor to make way for an apartment block have been submitted.
Developer FJF Construction wants to demolish the property on Ivy Park Road and put up 11 two-bedroom apartments with 17 car parking spaces.
A statement included with the plans, lodged with the council, said: “The proposed accommodation will be realistically available to more affluent socio-economic residents of the city.”
Each of the apartments will have a study room and ‘generously-sized’ bathrooms.
The developer admitted the scheme is ‘at the heart of the Ranmoor Conservation Area’, but added: “Preliminary discussions concluded that the existing bungalow does not constitute a heritage asset.”
