Neighbours fear ‘being watched’

Have your say

NEIGHBOURS have voiced concern that plans for an extension and rear balcony at a house in a Sheffield suburb could overlook their properties.

People living on Astwell Gardens, Chapeltown, have protested to Ecclesfield Parish Council about the application for a single-storey rear extension with raised balcony.

One neighbour told a meeting of the council that the extension would overlook their bedroom and sun lounge, ‘making them feel as if they are being watched’, and that the balcony would ‘make the situation even worse’.

The parish council has forwarded the concerns to Sheffield Council, which will decide on the application.
