The fire broke out on Laburnum Grove, Stocksbridge, at around 4.30pm on Tuesday and a photo has been shared online showing a hero neighbour attempting to keep the flames at bay with a garden hosepipe until firefighters arrived at the scene.

Crews from across Sheffield were deployed to the blaze and spent around three hours there.

Neighbouring flats were evacuated as a precaution.
