National Energy Week should be a turn off

DONCASTER Council will be encouraging people to tune out, turn off and switch off during National Energy Saving Week.

The theme of the week, from Monday October 22 to 28, is to get communities to make a collective effort to save energy.

The campaign will be focusing the community’s power in encouraging residents to do their bit to save energy.

Representatives from community groups will be available to raise awareness on the subject of climate change and the services available to residents to save energy. During the week, council staff will be offering free advice to residents and giving out free energy saving light bulbs to start them on their way. Residents will be asked to commit to saving 20 per cent of their energy use and work towards becoming energy efficient. Advice will be available on the following dates throughout the week:
