Muriel ‘Molly’ Tasker was travelling on the 97 bus from Sheffield back to her home in Totley on Thursday, December 10, and got off in Baslow Road at about 4.30pm.

She was found with a number of injuries, including a fractured skull, at around 5pm.

Detective sergeant Wayne Price said: “We believe that two men, both white, aged between 55 and 65, acted as good Samaritans and took the Molly home. One of the men had grey hair, while the other wore a checked shirt. Molly was later treated at hospital and is recovering at home.

“We’re trying to establish how she was injured and would like to find the two men that helped her.

“Did you see an elderly woman on the bus at this time? Are you one of the men who helped her – or do you perhaps know who they are?”

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 335 of 14 December 2015.
