The event – which returned on Saturday after a year’s break – offered live music, food and drink, stalls, workshops and information stands, many raising awareness of environmental issues.

Festival director Sara Hill said the turnout was ‘really good despite the weather’ – there were heavy downpours in the early evening.

Attendance was between 8,000 and 10,000, she added. “The new environmental area went down really well and the main stages were packed all day.”

But funds will be needed if the festival is to return next year, Sara emphasised. “You can still donate money online. What we’re saying is, if you came down on Saturday and had a good time, then give us a quid to say thank you.”
