Music hall at Chatsworth

Have your say

CHILDREN’S charity SAFE@LAST is hosting an evening with a difference at Chatsworth House and there are still places remaining.

Organiser Christine Ayres says the event will include a champagne reception and dinner with entertainment being authentic music hall from the Edwardian era presented in the historic private Victorian theatre within Chatsworth House.

She said: “The theme for the whole evening is based on historical fact that shows Queen Victoria visited Chatsworth as a girl, and later the house was often visited by King Edward VII, sometimes with Lily Langtrey.

“The very special after dinner entertainment is a Toffs’ Music Hall. Set in 1905, the Cavendish family have invited their guests to take part in their take on a good old East End music hall.”

There will also be an auction of an original painting of the Duchess of Devonshire painted by artist Trevor Neal.
