THE family of a South Yorkshire woman whose body was found in the boot of a car have spoken of their heartbreak.

Joy Billam’s body was found in the boot of her purple Ford Fiesta Fusion, which was parked on Doncaster Road, near to the junction with the A635 in Goldthorpe on Saturday.

A post mortem examination showed 46-year-old Joy, who lived nearby on Garden Street, had been strangled.

Today her heartbroken sons Tony and Lee spoke of their anguish.

Tony said: “Me and my brother Lee are totally devastated after losing our mum in the way we did.

“She meant the world to us and we will never be the same again. She was a loving and fun person to be with and a great nanna to her three grandchildren whom she adored.

“Our lives will never be the same again, we love and miss her very much.”

Raymond Billam, aged 63, from Guildford Road, Doncaster has been charged with murder.

He was remanded in custody Barnsley Magistrates’ Court and is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court next Tuesday.

A 16-year-old has also been charged with assisting offenders in connection with the murder.
