A man, woman and boy arrested over a fatal shooting in Sheffield remain in police custody this afternoon.

They are all being held over the death of 23-year-old Aseel Al-Essaie, who was gunned down in Daniel Hill, Upperthorpe, last Saturday afternoon.

He was in a black Mercedes C Class and had just arrived for a family gathering to celebrate his twin sister's engagement when he was shot in his chest.

He was rushed to hospital but could not be saved.

A 22-year-old man and a boy, aged 16, are being held on suspicion of murder while a 57-year-old woman is being held on suspicion of assisting offenders.

A 30-year-old man arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder was bailed earlier this week.

Anyone with information on the killing should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
