Murder suspects remain in custody over Sheffield shooting

A man, woman and boy arrested over a fatal shooting in Sheffield remain in police custody this afternoon.

They are all being held over the death of 23-year-old Aseel Al-Essaie, who was gunned down in Daniel Hill, Upperthorpe, last Saturday afternoon.

He was in a black Mercedes C Class and had just arrived for a family gathering to celebrate his twin sister's engagement when he was shot in his chest.

He was rushed to hospital but could not be saved.

A 22-year-old man and a boy, aged 16, are being held on suspicion of murder while a 57-year-old woman is being held on suspicion of assisting offenders.

A 30-year-old man arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder was bailed earlier this week.
