A MAN has been extradited from France and charged with the murder of a dad-of-one stabbed to death outside his Sheffield home.

Hussan Khan Marif, aged 19, was arrested in Marseilles earlier this month on suspicion of killing 30-year-old Zabi Rafiq on Callow Mount, Gleadless Valley, one month earlier, but he had to be detained in France while extradition procedures were followed.

He arrived back in the UK yesterday and was charged with murdering Mr Rafiq and attempted robbery.

Marif, originally from Afghanistan, is due to appear before Sheffield magistrates today.

Mr Rafiq, also originally from Afghanistan, was killed in the early hours of May 29 just moments after he pulled up outside the flat he shared with his wife and young daughter in the Bankwood tower block.

He was stabbed outside the communal entrance.
