Murder suspect due in court over death of South Yorkshire man

A man is due in court in Sheffield today over the death of a South Yorkshire man.

Kayne Reece Jones, aged 25, of Christchurch Road, West Melton, Rotherham, has been charged with the murder of 37-year-old Richard Broughton, who died following a collision.

The collision in Welland Crescent, Elsecar, Barnsley, on Friday, April 28 took place following an altercation and Mr Broughton died in hospital two days later.

Jones was remanded in custody over the weekend pending his appearance at Sheffield Magistrates' Court.

John Paul Jones, 23, of Welland Crescent, Elsecar, was charged with affray and witness intimidation last week.

A 35-year-old man arrested on suspicion of violent disorder has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
