Murder probe launched following discovery of woman’s body in Sheffield
A murder investigation has been launched in Sheffield following the discovery of a woman’s body.
Police said a 35-year-old woman’s body was discovered at an address in Martin Street, Upperthorpe, at 3.10pm yesterday.
A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
He is helping police with their inquiries today.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Singleton, leading the investigation, said: “While the launch of any murder investigation is always going to come as a shock to the local community, I would like to reassure residents in Upperthorpe that we do not believe there is any wider danger to the public and we are following a number of positive lines of enquiry.”
