Mum's heartfelt thanks for gift of a dream holiday for five-year-old Kacie

A GRATEFUL Askern mum today thanked donors whose cash allowed her severely disabled daughter to make a dream trip to Tenerife to see the dolphins.

The trip could be the last holiday five-year-old Kacie Goodwin-Robinson ever takes.

The youngster suffers from pulmonary artesia, a condition that blocks the heart valves - and almost died during emergency surgery two years ago.

But because of her age and insurance issues, Kacie was unable to realise her ultimate dream and swim with the dolphins.

Mum Stacy said the holiday in the Canary Island meant the world to her.

“We had a great time. Kacie wasn’t ill for a minute while we were out there - she lost her blue colour, which she got back the minute we arrived home in Askern, along with a cold.

“The climate out there seems to really suit her and she was laughing throughout the week," she said.

“I’m really grateful for everyone who helped me take her out there. I’m so grateful - people have been brilliant, just brilliant.”

Now Kacie has returned to the UK she faces the fourth major operation of her short life - an operation that surgeons have described as ‘critical’.

Askern based organisations raised 2,000 for Kacie’s dream trip. Askern man Andy Booker also donated 1,000 to the fund.
