However, the club explained on Facebook that the club will soon be making way for the redevelopment of the area.

The Night Kitchen posted: "Today is a sad day. It’s a sad day as we must announce that after summer we will be putting our cooking utensils down, turning off the ovens and closing the kitchen for good.

"We have worked very closely with our landlord over the years and always knew that one day we would have to make way for the redevelopment of the area.

"Over the past few months we have been having talks to establish when we would no longer be able to carry on hosting events and we now know that the end of the season, June 9th & 10th, will be our closing celebration parties."

The club, a converted cutlery factory, is hosted within CADS Works in the Shalesmoor area and well known for hosting both new acts as well as musical legends.

Formerly operating under the name Dirty Little Secret (DLS), the club was initially a joint project between Party For The People and fellow social enterprise CADS.

However, with the area due to undergo redevelopment in the coming months, the club are having to move from their Smithfield Street base.

In its Facebook post, the club confirmed that plans are already underway for the "next adventure".

The statement continued: "The next few months are going to be emotional for us.

"The Night Kitchen may not be perfect, it’s a little rough around the edges and things aren’t always the way they should be, but there's one thing for sure and that is that it’s got character.

"Character and charm, coupled with the memories we have here will make it a sad place to see go. It’s a place we’ve grown to love, and enjoyed spending some of our best nights here with all of you."

The final party at The Night Kitchen will be on June 10.
