MPs’ teatime discussions

SOUTH Yorkshire volunteers for overseas aid charity CAFOD are heading to Westminster to meet their local MPs for tea.

Roger Singleton, who lives in Sheffield Hallam constituency, is having a meeting with Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg, while Tony Singleton, who is no relation, is getting together with Don Valley Labour MP Caroline Flint.

A CAFOD spokeswoman said: “Roger and Tony are taking part in ‘Tea Time for Change’, a lobby for International Development to help MPs understand how important it is that poor communities can receive healthcare and education and break free from poverty forever.

“Aid promised by MPs is needed overseas where economic difficulties have hit but it’s important to ensure it gets to the poorest communities.”
