DONCASTER’S MPs say they are pleased with improvements in Doncaster’s Council’s child protection services.
The service in the borough was judged as “adequate” in a report by inspectors from Ofsted, two years after the Government was called in to sort out failings in the department.
MPs Caroline Flint, Ed Miliband and Rosie Winterton issued a joint statement on the report stating: “We are pleased to see an improvement in some areas although it is obvious there is still a long way to go.
“It is vital a clear strategy is set out to achieve the improvements required, as the safety and wellbeing of children is paramount.”
The Government took action after a string of child deaths and the Edlington boys torture case.
